Surgeon, oncologist, thought leader with a passionate interest in innovation and the role of collaboration and technology in care improvement and research that addresses patient needs. Has in-depth knowledge of the life science ecosystem and a solid experience in leading transformation initiatives across practice and disciplinary boundaries. Focused on delivering solutions that are inspired by new ways of thinking derived from connecting diverse people, processes and technology. Has pioneered the introduction of a Communities of Practice model in cancer care and helped to build end-to-end integrated approaches to care and quality improvements at the regional and national levels.
Michael combines over 20 years of a successful academic and clinical career with MBA from Queens University, Canada and is currently Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa.
